SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – Psy’s “Daddy” launched at 97th on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart on Tuesday, the fourth consecutive time his song opened on the industry standard U.S. chart.
The track featuring CL of the girl group 2NE1 came out last Tuesday, with charts updated every Tuesday, according to the U.S. website.
Psy has previously entered the Hot 100 Chart within the first week of releasing “Gangnam Style” and its two sequels “Gentleman” and “Hangover.”
Most notably, “Gangnam Style,” which gave him his big international break, held its No. 2 position for seven consecutive weeks. “Gentleman” peaked at fifth, and “Hangover” topped off at 26th place.
Meanwhile, the South Korean boy band Bangtan Boys broke into the Billboard 200 at 171st place, becoming the first K-pop act to do so that is not managed by South Korea’s two largest entertainment agencies: S.M. and YG. Bangtan Boys is managed by Big Hit Entertainment.’
