Renowned Poet Shin Kyung-rim Dies at 88

SEOUL, May 22 (Korea Bizwire)Shin Kyung-rim, a prominent figure in Korean poetry and author of the works “Nongmu” (Farmer’s Dance) and “A Poor Love Song,” died Wednesday, sources in the literary community said. He was 88.

He passed away at the National Cancer Center in Goyang, in the northwestern suburbs of Seoul, after a battle with cancer.

Shin was one of Korea’s most beloved poets, celebrated for his warm and gentle portrayal of the hardships of farmers, commoners and other marginalized groups.
