SEOUL, Dec. 13 (Korea Bizwire) — With the growing number of “petfam” South Koreans who regard their companion animals as family members, the retail industry is also keen on various marketing campaigns to target this new demographic.
Lotte Home Shopping Inc., a shopping unit of retail conglomerate Lotte, will present a unique mobile live broadcast featuring a pet dog as a show host to mark the second anniversary of the opening of its pet product section “COCOYA.”
In a mobile live broadcast on the afternoon of December 16, two dogs will be shown wearing winter products and water purifiers as well as health function foods for dogs will be demonstrated.
In addition, pet products will be sold at up to 30 percent off.
Meanwhile, South Korean hypermarket chain operator Homeplus Co. will also establish a YouTube channel targeting the petfam market.
In the broadcast, which will air every other Thursday until February of next year, the cast will reveal tips and know-how for raising pets each episode.
Brian from the vocal group Fly to the Sky, who has three Maltese, and a dog expert will appear to introduce their know-how in taming dogs and how to nurture their individual talents.
Homeplus also plans to hold discount promotions for various pet-related products featured on the show.
