SEOUL, May 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co. said Tuesday it will introduce a self-repair program in South Korea, mirroring a similar initiative in the U.S. This program will enable consumers to independently repair their Samsung products.
The self-repair program covers various products, such as the Galaxy smartphones S20, S21, and S22, the 15.6-inch Galaxy Book Pro laptop series, and three 32-inch TV models.
Users interested in utilizing this program can purchase the necessary components and repair tools from the Samsung Electronics Service Co. website.
Additionally, they can access repair manuals and videos specific to each component.
Once the components have been replaced, users can optimize their performance using a self-repair assistant app. To ensure effective repairs, users can also utilize the self-diagnosis function within the Samsung Members app.
Upon completion of the self-repair process, consumers have the choice to either visit a service center or utilize a parcel delivery service to return the replaced components and repair tools.
They will then receive a refund of the deposit.
For smartphone screen replacements, users can save approximately 25,000 won (US$18.98) by utilizing this self-repair program.
