SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung SDI Co. said Tuesday it has agreed with KG Mobility Corp. to jointly develop advanced battery pack technologies for electric vehicles (EVs) with enhanced safety and durability.
The South Korean battery maker signed a memorandum of understanding with KG Mobility to develop EV battery pack technologies utilizing 46-series cylindrical batteries, which will be applied to the carmaker’s future EVs, according to Samsung SDI.
“Samsung SDI’s 46-series cylindrical battery offers high energy density, enabling both extended driving range and fast charging capabilities,” the company said.
“With its enhanced safety and durability, the battery delivers reliable performance under diverse driving conditions.
The two companies additionally agreed to exchange information on global battery markets and seek strategic cooperation, including joint research and development projects, Samsung SDI said.
