SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom and Naver have emerged as the top artificial intelligence companies in South Korea, according to a survey of people from the MZ generation (those born between 1980 and the early 2000s) by the job platform Jobplanet.
The survey of 947 MZ generation respondents revealed Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom and Naver taking the top three spots when asked to name South Korea’s leading A.I. companies, Jobplanet announced on May 6.
The companies were followed by Kakao, Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, Doosan Robotics, KT, POSCO and Hanwha Systems rounding out the top 10.
When asked about their interest in A.I., 70.7 percent of respondents said they had a high level of interest, while only 0.4 percent expressed no interest at all, indicating strong enthusiasm for the technology among the MZ generation, according to Jobplanet’s analysis.
“It seems all the top 10 companies are major conglomerates, likely because every corporation is going all-in on A.I. technology,” said Kim Ji-ye, a director at Jobplanet. “The top three, in particular, are noteworthy as they’ve shown explosive technological growth and are expanding their global competitiveness. As the second round of the A.I. race begins, these are the companies we need to watch closely.”
