LAS VEGAS & SEOUL,  Jan. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics on Sunday unveiled a 130-inch Micro RGB television, its largest and most advanced display to date, ahead of the opening of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, underscoring the company’s push to redefine the ultra-premium TV market through next-generation display and artificial intelligence technologies.

The new model, introduced at Samsung’s “The First Look” showcase, builds on the company’s earlier debut of a 115-inch Micro RGB TV last August. By arranging microscopic red, green and blue LED chips—each smaller than 100 micrometers—across the screen, the Micro RGB technology allows for independent and highly precise control of color and brightness, producing deeper blacks, brighter highlights and more nuanced contrast.

Samsung said the finer LED structure enables sharper gradation between dark and light areas, delivering greater realism and depth across a wide range of viewing conditions. The display also achieves 100 percent coverage of the BT.2020 color standard set by the International Telecommunication Union, earning “Micro RGB Precision Color 100” certification from Germany’s VDE testing institute.

Design was another focal point. The television features Samsung’s new “Timeless Frame,” inspired by architectural window frames and engineered to give the illusion that the massive screen is floating, turning the display into what the company describes as a sculptural centerpiece.

Powering the TV is the company’s latest Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, which analyzes content scene by scene to optimize color, contrast and detail. The model incorporates glare-free technology to minimize reflections and maintain consistent picture quality under varying lighting conditions. Audio performance is enhanced with HDR10+ Advanced support and Eclipsa Audio, a sound technology co-developed with Google.

The television also serves as a showcase for Samsung’s broader “Vision AI Companion” strategy. Integrated AI services, including Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity, allow users to interact with the TV through natural voice commands—requesting, for example, a plot summary of a film or recommendations for blockbuster titles—transforming the screen into an interactive information hub.

“Micro RGB TV represents the pinnacle of Samsung’s display innovation,” Lee Heon, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, said in a statement. “With the new 130-inch model, we are extending that vision further and reinforcing our leadership in the premium display market through next-generation technology.”

The unveiling comes as Samsung and its rivals increasingly use CES to highlight not just hardware advances but also how artificial intelligence is reshaping the role of televisions—from passive screens into intelligent companions within the connected home.
