SEOUL, Aug. 30 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics reported on August 29 that half of the customers purchasing the company’s AI Package products, which consist of two or more artificial intelligence-enabled home appliances, are in their 20s and 30s.
This insight comes from an analysis of cumulative sales figures for AI packages from January to July of this year.
The tech giant noted a significant shift in purchasing patterns compared to traditional home appliances.
While multi-item purchases of conventional appliances were evenly distributed across age groups from those in their 20s to 60s, each accounting for 10-20% of sales, the AI appliance packages saw a concentration of over 50% among millennials and Gen Z consumers.
Samsung has attributed this trend to younger consumers’ desire to reduce time spent on household chores and their preference for furnishing their homes with multiple items at once. This demographic includes a high proportion of newlyweds and single-person households.
Particularly popular among these younger buyers is the combination of Samsung’s recently launched all-in-one washer, the Bespoke AI Combo, and the wet-dry robotic vacuum cleaner, the Bespoke AI Steam.
As summer approached, July saw a sharp increase in purchases combining these items with AI-enabled wind-free air conditioners.
To showcase these AI-enabled appliances, Samsung operates AI Lounges in 96 Samsung Stores nationwide. These lounges allow customers to experience the AI features of Samsung’s appliances through QR codes, without needing to install the SmartThings app.
Responding to consumer enthusiasm, Samsung has extended its Samsung Electronics AI Sale Festa until September 8, beyond its original end-of-August deadline.
The company also plans to unveil eight Shocking Price products on September 2, likely to further boost sales in this growing market segment.
