SEOUL, March 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday its Galaxy S9 promotion centers in South Korea attracted 1.6 million visitors in just five days after showcasing the flagship smartphone last week.
The South Korean tech giant has been operating Galaxy Studios at major places throughout the country after unveiling its latest flagship device in Barcelona, Spain.
The 5.8-inch Galaxy S9 and 6.2-inch Galaxy S9 Plus stand out from previous models as their cameras support variable aperture that can switch between F1.5 and F2.4. The smartphones also come with a super-speed dual pixel image sensor that can shoot 960 frames per second.
The visitors are also able to create their own emojis by taking a selfie with the Galaxy S9, which can be shared through various mobile messenger programs.
The company will receive preorders for the device through Thursday. Samsung has not yet released details of its sales performances.
The devices will officially hit shelves March 16 in major countries and gradually expand to other markets down the road.
