SEOUL, April 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to carry out a pilot project to place digital advertisements on taxi lamps following the launch of similar initiatives in Daejeon and Incheon.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport began a pilot project allowing advertisements on taxi lamps in the Seoul area.
The project allows digital advertisements to be placed on the side of the taxi lamp where the word ‘TAXI’ was written originally, with that real estate now screening a variety of advertisements.
Seoul aims to use the digital screens to help customers find empty cabs more easily, and offer real-time information on various weather and emergency situations as well as advertisements.
