SEOUL, June 3 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Thursday it will host the 2022 Seoul International Ultra Trail Running Race, also known as the Seoul 100K, on October 15 and 16 in collaboration with the Korea Alpine Federation.
The race will be divided into a 100-kilometer course connecting Seoul’s representative mountains with the Han River and urban areas, and 50-kilometer course connecting Haneul-gil and Seonggwak-gil (fortress wall).
In particular, this year’s course will feature the area connecting Baekakjeong, Gokjang and the Palgakjeong Pavilion, which includes the hiking trail behind the former presidential office Cheong Wa Dae that was reopened to the public.
Those who complete either of the courses can obtain either three or five points from the International Trail Running Association (ITRA). These points can be used to apply for participation in the world’s largest trail running event, the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB).
