SEOUL, Jan. 27 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Wednesday that it will open up additional ‘little libraries’ in four districts by November of this year to allow citizens to read at local parks.
The city, along with district authorities, is renovating old park facilities into libraries to minimize damage to the environment.
The three little libraries currently in operation since October 2020 have been visited by 55,000 people, despite the 30-percent accommodation limit imposed by quarantine restrictions.
“We plan to increase the number of park libraries that citizens can enjoy at any time of the year,” said Yoo Young-bong, director-general of the Green Seoul Bureau at the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
