SEOUL, Aug. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — Food and beverages at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul will be offered in multi-use containers instead of disposable ones for the next 30 days.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will begin a trial of multi-use containers at the stadium on Wednesday with the program running until the South Korean baseball league’s regular season ends on Sept. 23.
Visitors can receive multi-use containers at 40 vendors located in Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
The multi-use containers can be returned at return counters placed throughout the stadium, without any deposit charges.
The Ministry of Environment reported that around 2,203 tons of waste are produced at baseball stadiums each year, accounting for 35.7 percent of waste produced at all sports facilities.
