SEOUL, Oct. 17 (Korea Bizwire) – Hotels that once banned domestic pets are changing their policies, offering room options, or packages for domestic pet owners, the number of which is rapidly increasing in Korea.

W Seoul-Walkerhill recently introduced a PAW (Pets Are Welcome) option for guests seeking accommodation with their pets. It costs extra an 150,000 won ($131, per pet) compared to the regular room rate, and offers pet items such as beds, pillows, a floor mat, and even snacks, in addition to a walking service for dogs.

Aloft Seoul Gangnam launched its ARF (Animals Are Fun) program, which, like Walkerhill’s PAW, provides its guests with pet amenities and snacks. The ARF option can be added for 132,000 won to a room’s standard rate.

Another luxury hotel, Sheraton Seoul Palace Gangnam Hotel, has even launched an official package dubbed “Love that Dog” that will be offered throughout the rest of the year. It costs 270,000 won per night, and is only available for dogs weighing less than 10kg.

“We decided to offer the ‘Love that Dog’ package to better serve a rising number of people that raise pets as part of their family, and seek a more special holiday experience,” said a Palace Gangnam Hotel official.
