SEOUL, June 4 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul’s southern district of Gwanak will set up a veterinary clinic with emergency and intensive care units for abandoned animals.
The center will offer medical treatment to lost or abandoned animals that require emergency treatment after an accident or those with severe injuries that cannot be treated at animal protection facilities.
Seoul city government has been operating three animal rescue teams and emergency treatment centers that are open on holidays and at night since last year.
However, these facilities are open only to adopted animals. Others without confirmed adoption cannot access these facilities, the district officials said.
The new emergency clinic in the district will be able to accommodate up to 40 animals, including those at protection facilities in need of emergency treatment or those requiring intensive medical care.
