Recently, Seoul’s Gwanak District unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at preventing child abuse. This initiative offers a child drawing psychological examination service, where artificial intelligence (AI) technology plays a pivotal role in the analysis process.
This innovative service entails an AI system meticulously examining children’s drawings and evaluating their parents’ stress levels related to their parenting roles. It is designed to detect any potential indicators of child abuse and provide expert insights accordingly.
When a child submits their artwork through a smartphone application, a team of experts assesses the stress levels and parenting dynamics within the family unit, both for the parents and the child.
Furthermore, if the AI system identifies a family at a “crisis” or “caution” level regarding child abuse, a representative from the community center takes proactive steps by visiting the family in person to offer much-needed parenting counseling. Remarkably, this service is available to a total of 1,400 individuals and families, and it is provided free of charge.
This progressive initiative not only demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of children but also leverages cutting-edge technology to address critical social issues effectively.
