SEOUL, Oct. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s top noodle maker Nongshim Co.’s popular instant noodles “Shin Ramyun” and “Chapagetti” have been listed as New York Magazine’s Best Instant Noodles.
The Strategist, a website run by the American biweekly magazine, introduced the two products in an article titled ‘The Best Instant Noodles, According to Chefs and Food Writers.’
The article introduces 10 top instant noodles picked by eight experts. Shin Ramyun and Chapagetti were two Korean products among them.
“Shin Ramyun is a very classic Korean instant ramyun and the standard against which I measure all ramyuns,” said Irene Yoo, one of the chefs in the reviewing panel. “It is spicy and very umami forward, and endlessly adaptable.”
On Chapagetti, Yoo said it is “intensely savory and saucy and super-fun to eat,” adding that she’ll sometimes “fry up some chadolbaegi (thinly sliced beef brisket) to put on top, then drizzle it with a bit of truffle oil.”
