SEOUL, Jan. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — In collaboration with Unity Korea, the SmileGate Studio of Hope hosted the 2015 Global Game Jam Korea, in order to foster game creation passion and promote development of the gaming industry.
The gaming festival was held at the Orange Farm Seocho Center for 2 nights and 3 days until Sunday, January 25, with over 70 participants. The SmileGate Studio of Hope is convening the Global Game Jam Korea for the second consecutive year in order to contribute to the development of the gaming industry and the establishment of a business foundation ecosystem.
The Global Game Jam, which was held for the seventh time this year, is an Indie game development festival in which participants work to develop new games for 48 hours.
At the festival last year, over 23,000 developers in over 490 cities and 72 countries participated and made over 4,000 games.
Kwon Yeon-joo, the head of the Social Contribution Department for the SmileGate Studio of Hope said, “The 2015 Global Game Jam Korea proved to be an opportunity for game developers to build experience and professional abilities, and also network and build relationships with each other.”
