SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Korea Bizwire) – Sony Korea announced on December 1 that it would release its SmartWatch3 and SmartBand Talk devices in Korea in December. Equipped with an always-on 1.4-inch display that’s based on E-ink technology to prolong battery life, users can make phone calls with the SmartBand via a Bluetooth connection to their smartphone. Using the Android Wear platform, the SmartWatch3 can be used independently, without smartphone-pairing, and boasts a variety of scalable options. With 4GB of internal storage, it can sync with a smartphone’s playlist, allowing a user to listen to music using a Bluetooth headset.
Both products can track a user’s activity, including exercise, sleep cycles, SNS usage, music listening or video watching, gaming and so on. They offer an IP68 dust and waterproof rating, and can be paired to other mobile devices using NFC connectivity. SmartBand Talk will be launched in Korea in early December for 199,000 won, and SmartWatch3 in mid-December for 299,000 won.
