SEOUL, Aug. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — The National Emergency Management Agency announced on Sunday it is attending a fire safety exhibition in Vietnam as part of efforts to promote and help South Korean companies venture out into foreign markets.
A special team consisting of officials from the Korea Fire Institute and 23 fire safety companies is attending Secutech Vietnam 2017, a fire safety exhibition and conference that will be held in Ho Chi Minh City later this week, to find export opportunities for South Korean enterprises and promote fire safety policy and measures used in South Korea.
Vietnam is a rapidly developing economy that boasts an annual economic growth rate of over 7 percent.
In recent years, South Korean exports to Vietnam in the fire safety industry have increased drastically, from 1.4 billion won in 2015 to 5.8 billion won in 2016, with 81 fire engines scheduled to be exported this year.
“Going forward, we’ll do our best to help South Korean fire safety companies venture out into Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries,” said Lee Ill, an official from the National Emergency Management Agency.
