SEOUL, March 28 (Korea Bizwire) — With quarantine restrictions being lifted for incoming vaccinated travelers to South Korea, more people are gaining interest in books about foreign travel.
Kyobo Bookstore reported a 28.5 percent sales increase for books about traveling overseas between February 25 and March 24.
The government lifted quarantine restrictions on incoming travelers on March 11.
A majority of customers bought books about traveling to Hawaii. “The Real Hawaii” traveler’s guide topped the category sales charts over the last seven days. “Hawaii Self-Travel” made it to fourth place in the sales rankings.
Travel logs written by famous writers, including “The Santiago Pilgrimage: Walking the Immortal Way” by Jean-Christophe Rufin and “If Our Language Were Whiskey” by Haruki Murakami, have also gained popularity.
