SEOUL, Mar. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — TVXQ, the two member Korean group, received five trophies at Japan’s 29th Golden Disk Awards for the second consecutive year. TVXQ was awarded ‘Best Asian Artist,’ ‘Best Album in Asia,’ ‘Best Music Video in Asia’ and two ‘Top Three Albums in Asia’ titles.
TVXQ’s three Japanese tours between 2012 and 2014 attracted 2 million viewers, setting attendance records for foreign artists visiting Japan. TVXQ is currently touring Japan’s five dome stadiums. The next destination for their ‘TVXQ Live Tour 2014 WITH’ is Osaka’s Kyocera dome stadium, with shows scheduled for March 14, 15, 17 and 19.
SNSD was also awarded ‘Best Album in Asia’ and ‘Best Downloaded Song’, while Bangtan Boys, or BTS, received two awards.
Japan’s Golden Disk Awards are among Japan’s most prestigious music prizes, held by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. The awards are given to artists based on album sales and video purchases.
