SEOUL, May 27 (Korea Bizwire) — A local university will set up a gender neutral bathroom which anyone, regardless of their gender, will be able to use.
Sungkonghoe University’s student body unanimously decided to introduce a gender-neutral bathroom this year.
The bathroom will be open to anyone, regardless of gender, age, disability, and sexual orientation.
While similar to other bathrooms, it will also come with a facility to assist disabled persons and a space to change baby diapers.
The student body plans to spend around 50 million won (US$44,700) to install the gender-neutral bathroom in one of the school buildings over the summer vacation.
