SEOUL, April 6 (Korea Bizwire) — While the spread of the coronavirus continues, a very touching story in which a citizen donated masks to a local police station, has moved the hearts of Korean citizens.
On Sunday morning, an individual visited Samyang Police Substation, a division of the Seoul Gangbuk Police Station, with a visible limp.
In the person’s hand was a small, pink shopping bag.
The individual placed the bag in front of the police substation and left in a hurry, after calling out, “I want police officers to use these masks.”
When the police opened the bag, there were 20 masks, one bag of roasted almonds and a small handwritten letter.
The letter said, “I am a person with social phobia and depression. So, I do not leave my place. I think masks are a must for police officers who meet with people every day.”
According to the police, the person who donated the mask said in the letter that they were a beneficiary of national basic livelihood, a disabled person, and a person suffering from depression and social phobia.
“It was such touching moment for me as I am exhausted from dealing with the coronavirus outbreak,” said a police officer who received the donated masks.
“I hope the good deeds of the warm-hearted angel will be widely known.”
Meanwhile, police delivered the donated masks to the Salvation Army Social Welfare Center with the intention of sharing them with those in need.
