BUCHEON, Sept. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — The Bucheon B-boy International Championship (BBIC), the only local B-boy competition on a global scale, will be taking place at Bucheon Maru Plaza between September 14 and 16.
In its third year, BBIC is an event supervised by Jinjo Crew, a Korean dance group that swept the titles of the world’s top five B-boy dance contests.
With over 600 dancers from 24 countries expected to compete in this year’s contest, the hottest names in the industry such as Norway’s Quick Crew, Japan’s The Floorriorz feat. Area, Brazil’s Neguin, and France’s Salah will participate in the event as special guests.
On September 14, the first day of competition, solo battles for B-boying and popping will be carried out. The 32 semi-finalists from each genre will compete against one another in tournament battle format.
One B-boy genre finalist and four popping genre finalists will compete in the BBIC World Final on September 16.
On September 15, 12 previously selected teams will be battling it out to clinch the top prize across all genres. The BBIC is open to anyone free of charge at the Bucheon Maru Plaza.
