SEOUL, April 25 (Korea Bizwire) — A survey conducted by Jeju Air Co. among 741 people showed that 76 percent of those with summer vacation plans, or 510 people, said they were planning to travel overseas.
Most of those planning to travel abroad preferred short to medium distances, including Japan, China, and Southeast Asia.
The peak summer months of July and August were not the only popular time to travel, with 42 percent also choosing May, June, September, and October.
Traveling during peak season was avoided due to high expenses. Jeju Air has noticed a trend of more customers taking short trips during off-seasons and a spread of “niche travel” throughout the year.
