SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — “The 2014 Mungyeong Pass Bare-foot Walking Festival” was held successfully on August 23 in Mungyeongsaejae Provincial Park with 3,000 visitors from all across the country.

It is the ninth annual event that the festival was held since 2006, sponsored by Hankook Ilbo, the parent newspaper company of The Korea Times, and the participants have gained in number over the years. More and more busy city-dwellers have been coming to fully appreciate the beautiful nature, clean and fresh air and water while walking along the tree-shaded trails on bare-foot.

The festival included various events such as bare-foot walking, concerts in forest, and a raffle contest. The walking trail through the forest is about 7 kilometers long back and forth and leads to the concert hall where the events were mainly held. The Concert in a Forest event hosted a karaoke contest in which any participant can take the stage and boast their singing talent, and several celebrity performances followed after the competition to add to the excitement.

The provincial governor Kim Gwan-yong of North Gyeongsang province said, “Mungyeong Saejae has been recently revealed as No. 1 in the top-hundred list of the places that Koreans want to travel most. Walking bare-foot along the red clay trails will restore your health and relieve you from the city stresses.”
