2019 Dynamic Dancing Carnival Opens in Wonju

WONJU, Sept. 3 (Korea Bizwire)The Wonju Dynamic Dancing Carnival, South Korea’s largest and longest street parade-style festival, opened its curtains Tuesday in downtown Wonju, Gangwon Province.

This year’s festival will be the largest ever, with some 10,000 participants from 142 teams, including 34 teams from 12 overseas countries and 108 teams from Korea.

During the festival, which runs through Sunday, large-scale preliminary competition parades will be held at two special stages.

Another carnival festival, the 2019 Fringe Festival, will provide spectacular attractions to citizens in a variety of genres, including mime and theater, musicals, magic and bubble shows.

    Ruciteme Karyenda Culture de Buyenzi, founded in 1987, started with 27 members. The members range in age from 8 – 50.
    The group performs the Burundian dance which is an old traditional dance and was usually played for Kings. The dance should bring people together and aims to bring happiness and peace into the nation. The group’s aim is to represent the Burundian culture in the national area as well as internationally. 
    Ruciteme believe that traditional instruments, the Burundian drums, are a tremendous form of communication and a sign of national unity. The group wants to convey a positive message by sustaining the tradition of the community which was broken by the civil war crisis.
     The group have won different prizes in various regions and countries,
    a) 12th march 2013 we emerged Number 1 in Rwanda – Kigali at FESPAD Competition( all African countries Festival )
    b) 28th November 2014 we again won an become Number 1 in Paris (Le Patrimoine Culturelle Immateriel de l’UNESCO )
    c) 7th September 2017 we won again in Kampala – Uganda EAC Jamafest ( East Africa Competition)
