SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – As the highly anticipated Black Friday, North America’s largest consumer electronics holiday, approaches, U.S. consumer publications have singled out domestic organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TVs, particularly highlighting the 2023 LG OLED Evo, as the premier choice in the realm of large-screen TVs.
Consumer Reports recently unveiled its list of the top-performing 75-inch and larger TVs for the year, and notably, six out of the seven models in the “Best Performing 75-inch TVs” category hailed from Korean manufacturers.
In particular, Consumer Reports lauded the LG OLED Evo (77G3) as “the cream of the crop,” excelling in all picture quality tests and delivering impressive audio performance. The 77C3 earned praise for its “excellent overall picture quality and good HDR performance,” while the 77G2 stood out for its “excellent brightness and HDR performance.”
The 2023 LG OLED Evo distinguishes itself through its utilization of ‘Brightness Enhancement Technology,’ boasting a remarkable 70% improvement in brightness performance compared to regular OLED TVs. Additionally, it addresses concerns related to light reflection and screen glare, surpassing its predecessors in these aspects.
Samsung also made a notable mark in the recognition, with two OLED TVs (including the QN77S90C) and a QLED TV acclaimed as best in class. A Sony OLED TV also earned accolades.
In the budget-friendly “Best 75-inch TVs Under $1,000″ category, LG Ultra HD TVs and Samsung QLED TVs received recognition alongside products from Roku, TCL, and other brands.
Consumer Reports didn’t stop there, spotlighting LG OLED TVs (65C2-55B3-48A2) and LG QNED TVs (75QNED75), as well as Samsung OLED TVs (QN77S89C) and QLED TVs (QN65QN90C), among its “Best Black Friday Deals.”
The North American market exhibits a robust preference for larger TVs, especially in the fourth quarter, coinciding with Black Friday and the National Football League (NFL) season.
According to market research firm OMDIA, shipments of 75-inch and larger TVs in North America are projected to reach approximately 1.34 million units in the fourth quarter, reflecting a substantial 13.5% year-over-year growth.
This category represents 11.1% of the estimated shipments and a significant 31.7% of the anticipated revenue for all North American TV sales in the fourth quarter.
