SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Twitter Inc. said Friday that 5.3 billion tweets were created last year globally about K-pop.
“Twitter continues to show that it’s the best place to find out what’s happening with K-pop and to talk about it with K-pop fans around the world,” the U.S. microblogging website said.
Some of the top 20 countries that tweeted the most about K-pop in 2018 include the United States and other major Asian countries.
Twitter said it has also collaborated with 34 K-pop bands and over 200 artists to create content available exclusively on the platform, such as with BTS (@BTS_twt), EXO (@weareoneEXO) and GOT7 (@GOT7Official).
“Twitter has strengthened its position as the top conversation platform for the global K-pop community,” it said.
The company also said 56 million tweets were made in just three days about the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
