SEOUL, Jan. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Singer BoA collaborated with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Siedah Garrett on a remake of a Michael Jackson song, her management agency said Monday.
S.M. Entertainment said the Korean singer worked with the U.S. artist to sing “Man in the Mirror,” recorded by the late pop legend and written by Garret and Glen Ballard, to mark the 30th anniversary of its initial release in 1988. Originally from Jackson’s 1987 solo album “Bad,” the song was published as a single in January the next year and was later nominated for the Grammy award for Record of the Year.
The recording of the duet took place in December in Westlake Recording Studio in California, where the late artist recorded the album “Bad.”
The duet, edited by producer and songwriter Myron Mckinley, will be unveiled worldwide at 6 p.m. Tuesday through SM Station, the company’s digital music channel.
Prior to the release, a teaser clip for the song’s music video is set to be made public on the agency’s official YouTube channel, as well as on the SM Town channel on Naver TV, at 6 p.m. Monday.
