SEOUL, June 16 (Korea Bizwire) — The New York Mets, a Major League Baseball (MLB) team, unveiled plans to renovate their ballpark on Tuesday (local time), with Samsung Electronics Co. playing a key role.
As part of the team’s Samsung Tech Summit event at Citi Field in New York, officials briefed the public about the current state of progress and future plans in detail.
After being chosen as an official partner for the Citi Field renovation project in December last year, Samsung has been engaged in the installation of state-of-the-art high-resolution displays throughout the ballpark.
Thin belt-shaped LED ribbon displays and 300 LCD screens are already installed throughout the stands, dugouts, and behind home plate.
The scoreboard, the highlight of this renovation, will be completed before opening day next year. It will help spectators to catch all of the highlights, no matter where they are within the stadium.
The displays that Samsung has installed at various stadiums feature 4K high resolution, enabling the transmission of various videos and graphics.
The new scoreboard will show game replays in ultra-high resolution from various angles, more than six times wider than the previous scoreboard.
