SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Automobile Racing Association (KARA) announced that a professional driver representing South Korea will participate in the FIA (Federation Internationale de I’Automobile) Motorsport Games for the first time.
Unlike other racing contests that are team competitions, the FIA Motorsport Games is a national competition.
Only one driver from each country can participate in each discipline. Just like at the Olympics, gold, silver and bronze medals are given to winners.
This year’s FIA Motorsport Games will take place at the Circuit Paul Ricard in Marseille, France from Oct. 26-30.
A total of 16 disciplines will be staged, ranging from carting and drifting to semi-pro GT.
South Korea will take part in two disciplines, F4 and Esports.
The Korean team’s official sponsors are Hyundai Motor Co. and Hankook Tire & Technology Co.
