SEOUL, Feb. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — As international flight routes begin to reopen, demand for golf trips is on the rise.
Kyowon Tour Co.’s travel brand Travel Easy reported that last year’s reservation rate for oversea golf trips increased during all four annual quarters.
In the second annual quarter, the reservation rate jumped by 47 percent from the previous quarter. The reservation rate jumped by 271 percent in the third quarter and by 194 percent in the fourth quarter.
Golf enthusiasts travel primarily to Southeast Asia, accounting for 76 percent of all reservations, followed by the South Pacific and Hawaii.
Sorted by city destinations, the most popular choice was Clark, the Philippines (39 percent), followed by Saipan (23 percent), Da Nang (13 percent), Nha Trang (11 percent) and Kota Kinabalu (6 percent).
“With golf becoming more expensive in South Korea following the pandemic, this seems to have impacted the rising reservation rate,” Travel Easy said.
