SEOUL, July 20 (Korea Bizwire) — An increasing number of people are paying visits to an eerie tree featured in the popular SBS TV drama “Revenant.”
In the drama, the tree was described as having been used to hang the bodies of children who died from infectious diseases, after placing them in pottery.
In reality, however, the tree is the Pine Tree of Seonghwang-ri, located in Uiryeong County, South Gyeongsang Province.
Designated as a natural monument in April 1988 by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the tree’s age was estimated to be around 300 years.
Despite its modest height of only 13.5 meters, the tree’s branches spread widely in four directions, giving it a unique shape.
