SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) – First launched in 2006 with 529 attendees, the Festival du Film Coréen à Paris (FFCP) has come a long way with this year marking the 12th iteration of its celebration of Korean film in France.
The event is being coordinated by the non-profit group 1886, which was founded by a collective of young Koreans who wanted to introduce Korean cinema to a French audience.
Besides the new releases like “A Taxi Driver” and “The Fortress”, five classic films featuring comic actor Goo Bong Suh will be shown. (Image: Yonhap)
This year’s festival boasts a catalogue of 32 full-length films and 25 short films. Starting October 24, the screenings will be hosted by the Publicis Cinémas.
Besides the new releases like “A Taxi Driver” and “The Fortress”, five classic films featuring comic actor Goo Bong Suh will be shown.
A simple awards ceremony is also part of the festival. A panel of judges comprised of French film experts will bestow awards for short films, animated shorts and screenplays.

A member of the organizing committee expressed high hopes for the festival, mentioning that French interest in Korean films has grown due to the recent development of the Korean film industry.
