SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — The South Korea’s largest ad agency is making forays into the e-commerce market.
Cheil Worldwide Inc., an advertisement unit of Samsung Group, announced on Monday that it had opened a new-concept online shopping mall ‘GETTT’ that is an experience-based e-commerce platform.
GETTT is an abbreviation of the words ‘Get the taste.’ The e-commerce platform allows consumers to experience a variety of goods and brands before making purchase decisions.
Although online shopping has become a part of everyday life, a survey conducted by Cheil Worldwide showed that 75 percent of consumers said that they sometimes regretted making purchases online.
The company said that the business concept of the e-commerce platform is based on the desire of consumers to try out and experience before buying.
GETTT users can rent items before making purchase decisions. If they find the items they rent meet their taste, they can then purchase the item.
If they decide to purchase the items they rented, they can get them at a discounted price. However, if they want a new model rather than the rented one, they have to pay the full price after returning the one they rented.
It’s also possible for users to buy new items without using the rental service.
