SEOUL, April 13 (Korea Bizwire) — Animal clinics and salons will become more easily available in local neighborhoods following the removal of restrictions that will now allow animal institutions to open up closer to residential areas.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on Wednesday announced plans to implement a new amendment for the Enforcement Decree of the Building Act.
Currently categorized as type II neighborhood living facilities, clinics, salons, and hotels for animals are restricted in terms of where they can be opened.
They are prohibited from opening up in Exclusive Residential Districts and can only be opened in general residential zones when a separate ordinance permits it.
The amendment will now re-categorize animal clinics and salons smaller than 300 square meters in size as type I neighborhood living facilities, allowing them to open up in both exclusive and general residential zones.
