SEOUL, Jan. 12 (Korea Bizwire) – The chairman of German auto giant BMW has visited South Korea to praise the local unit for its brisk sales performance last year, company official said Tuesday.
BMW Group Chairman Harald Kruger came to Seoul on Monday for a two-day stay in his first major event since the start of the year, according to the officials.
This is his second visit to Korea following one in 2011 but the first time since he took office as chairman in May last year.
His trip is aimed at praising and thanking employees for strong sales results last year, the officials said. Last year, BMW Korea ranked first among foreign brands by selling a total of 47,877 cars, up 19.2 percent from a year earlier.
He left for Germany earlier on Tuesday, the officials said.’
