BUSAN, Jun. 5 (Korea Bizwire) – The 2024 Busan One Asia Festival (BOF), Asia’s largest Korean wave (hallyu) festival, is set to take place on June 8 and 9 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium and Hwamyeong Ecological Park.
Organized by the Busan Tourism Organization, BOF has evolved from its inception in 2016 into a platform for cultural exchange among global youth, transcending its initial K-pop festival roots.
Top-tier K-pop artists are expected to grace the festival, offering diverse entertainment and providing fans with an unforgettable experience. The festivities commence on June 8 at 7 p.m. with the BOF Big Concert at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
This year’s lineup features nine K-pop groups spanning multiple generations, including g.o.d, Super Junior-D&E (Donghae & Eunhyuk), Zerobaseone, BoyNextDoor, Nowadays, n.SSign, Lun8, H1-Key, and Billlie. The concert will culminate in a special joint performance featuring all the artists.
Outdoor events themed around K-Beauty, K-Art, and K-Food will accompany the main stage performances. The K-pop Playground, one of the ten major projects of the 2023-2024 Visit Korea Year initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Visit Korea Committee, will take place at the Asiad Main Stadium Deck starting at 2 p.m. before the concert.
On June 9 at 6:30 p.m., the Park Concert will be held at Hwamyeong Ecological Park. MeloMance, Paul Kim, Jukjae, and Onestar will deliver sentimental performances against the backdrop of the Nakdong River, providing a healing experience for local residents and international visitors alike. The Park Concert is free of charge.
Anticipating traffic congestion around the Busan Asiad Main Stadium and Hwamyeong Ecological Park during the festival, city officials have urged attendees to utilize public transportation when visiting the venues.
Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “This year’s BOF, being held in June for the first time, prioritizes the safety and convenience of domestic and international audiences.” He added, “I hope both local and international tourists visiting Busan, a growing hub of hallyu culture, will create special memories through the K-pop performances and the cultural experiences offered by our city.”
