SEOUL, Feb. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Busan has won the top prize in South Korea’s city brand rankings, surpassing Seoul.
The Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute conducted a monthly analysis of 57,048,306 data records on city brands, which showed that Busan ranked first, followed by Seoul and Jeju City.
The City Brand Index was based on the analysis of participation, media, communication and community indexes.
In addition, the governance research conducted by the Good Governance Research Center was added to the assessment.
“With Busan vying to to host the 2030 World Expo, the city has conducted rigorous brand marketing. Seoul, on the other hand, gained a negative reputation following the flood that engulfed the city’s Gangnam district in July and the Itaewon stampede,” the institute said.
