SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire) — Cadillac Korea announced on Sunday that it will launch LYRIQ, the brand’s inaugural all-electric vehicle, in the second half of this year. The LYRIQ is a pioneering model in General Motors’ (GM) electrification strategy, serving as the first vehicle built on GM’s cutting-edge ULTIUM electric vehicle platform.
Featuring a high-capacity 102-kilowatt-hour battery with 12 modules and an all-wheel drive (AWD) system with dual motors, the LYRIQ boasts a maximum power output of approximately 500 horsepower and a torque of 62 kg-m. According to Cadillac’s own tests, the vehicle can travel approximately 494 kilometers on a full charge, based on North American market certification.
The front of the LYRIQ stands out with its iconic black crystal grille and vertically arranged slim LED headlamps. To cater to Korean customers’ sophisticated tastes for luxury EVs, Cadillac will introduce a trim strategy.
