SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean food company CJ CheilJedang Corp. said Monday it has introduced its “shelf-stable” noodle products to the European market for the first time this month.
The company has introduced its shelf-stable noodle product, bibigo Korean Style Udon Noodles, in Britain, Sweden and Spain to gain a bigger share of the room-temperature noodle market, estimated at 126 trillion won (US$89.9 billion), it said in a statement.
With the three European nations, CJ CheilJedang has now launched shelf-safe noodle products in 10 countries, except for South Korea, since 2005, according to the company.
The company said it will gradually expand into other European markets, such as France, Germany and the Netherlands.
In December 2023, CJ CheilJedang launched its shelf-stable pasta products under the company’s Le Cook brand for the first time in China as part of its expansion strategy.
The company’s frozen and refrigerated noodle products are already available in global markets.
In the January-September period, its net profit jumped 26 percent to 514.7 billion won from 407.5 billion won a year earlier.
