SEOUL, Oct. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean movie “I Can Speak”, which centers around the life of a former comfort woman during the Japanese occupation of Korea, has been nominated for an Asia Pacific Screen Award.
South Korean actress Na Moon-hee, who plays the role of Okbun, a victim of sexual slavery by the imperial Japanese Army during the Second World War, has been nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress category, according to film distributor Little Big Pictures.
Organized by the State of Queensland in Australia, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards have been introducing to the world some of the best movies in the Asia-Pacific region since 2007, with this year’s set to be held in Brisbane at the end of November.
South Korean actors and actresses have already been honored at the awards, including Choi Min-sik from “Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time”, and Kim Hye-ja, who picked up an award for her role in the movie “Mother”.
