SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Korea Bizwire)For Chinese tourists visiting South Korea, there are must-haves that they need to buy at South Korea’s omnipresent convenience stores.

CU, a major convenience store franchise, said Chinese tourists bought Binggrae Co.’s Banana-flavored Milk the most, followed by Crami Crab Sticks, Nongshim Co.’s Shin Ramyun Black Cup Noodles, herbal sanitary pads, and mochi rolls.

In 2015, Chinese tourists tended to favor banana milk, Shin Ramyun, seaweed, “choco pies”, and Jongga Kimchi.

While banana milk and Shin Ramyun managed to stay in the top five, others had to give way to new products that gained instant popularity via social networks.

Crami, for instance, went viral on the internet when it was introduced on a Chinese social network.

“China’s SNS influencers, including Wang Hong, introduced various goods and services commonly available at Korean convenience stores,” said a source from CU.

“Now convenience stores have become a must-visit for young Chinese tourists.”
