SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — ‘Fancy’ is expected to be the new keyword for women’s clothes in this year’s spring-summer season.
Samsung C&T Corp.’s fashion group picked Y2K fashion as this year’s spotlight fashion trend.
Y2K fashion refers to a fashion trend that used to be popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s in South Korea. It focuses on emphasizing body curves, giving off a sexy, lively look.
The Y2K fashion look is best represented by crop tops, low-rise pants and mini skirts.
Leather biker jackets and cargo pants are also among the most popular Y2K fashion items that used to be popular in the 1990s.
“Y2K fashion brings back nostalgia to the older generation while posing as a new trend for Generation Z,” Samsung C&T said.
“Y2K fashion embodies the worries and expectations for the new millennium, which resonates with the pandemic era in which we live today.”
