SEOUL, Sept. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — Germany-based online delivery service provider Delivery Hero, the operator of South Korea’s second-biggest food delivery app Yogiyo, introduced a new delivery service Yomart on Wednesday.
Delivery Hero Stores Korea, a sister company to Delivery Hero, offers quick commerce (Q-Commerce) services based on warehouses located in the heart of the city that are exclusively used for deliveries.
Yomart also plans to offer a next-generation delivery service that brings parcels to a customer’s doorstep within 30 minutes after the order is placed.
The company’s flagship store is currently operating as part of a pilot project in Gangnam, Seoul, after which the company plans to expand the service to other regions.
Yomart offers more than 3,000 products ranging from fresh food, meal kits and household goods to pet products.
Delivery apps are scrambling to introduce instant delivery services using their extensive logistic networks.
The nation’s biggest food-delivery app Baedal Minjok launched its B Mart instant delivery service last year in certain regions of Seoul.
