Disability Rights Activists Stage Subway Protests on Day of Persons with Disabilities

SEOUL, April 20 (Korea Bizwire) –Solidarity Against Disability Discrimination (SADD) organized a surprise subway-riding protest at Seoul’s Myeongdong Station on the 43rd Day of Persons with Disabilities, leading to a 15-minute disruption in train services. The group demanded an increased budget for disabled people and their mobility rights. SADD has previously staged similar protests at major subway stations in central Seoul. The group also staged a separate subway-riding protest at Samgakji Station on Line 4, where about 50 members demonstrated for 30 minutes, leading to no train delays.
