BUSAN, Oct. 13 (Korea Bizwire) — A project is underway to set up exclusive stations for drones at the Port of Busan.
This plan gained momentum after the Busan Port Authority’s project to develop robot automation-based unmanned drone stations for the management of port facilities was selected for support by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The unmanned drone stations will feature a hangar-like cover and a landing field. The stations will be designed to allow drones to take-off and land on a remote basis, while enabling automatic battery replacement, inspection and charging.
This stations will also have a function that sends photos and videos of port facilities taken by drones to the server of the port authority.
The port authority plans to set up drone stations at the Busan North Port and New Port.
