CHEONGJU, June 3 (Korea Bizwire)A homemaker (38) living in Cheongju, 140 kilometers south of Seoul, feels uncomfortable whenever the time comes for her daughter – a second grade elementary school student – to go to school.

She always has to nag at her daughter not to take off her mask in school. In addition, the schoolbag looks far heavier than before.

“When my daughter was a first grade student, she could attend classes simply with a pencil case and a homework diary. She could leave textbooks and notebooks at school. Today, however, she has to carry all of them fully packed in the schoolbag due to alternate day classes,” she said,

Elementary schools opened on May 27 for first and second grade students. The homemaker’s daughter is now attending classes every other day.

As part of measures to prevent student congestion amid the coronavirus outbreak, schools made it a rule for students to alternate between attending classes and online instruction at home.

Before the outbreak of the coronavirus, students commuted to school with all of their textbooks and notebooks left in school lockers. But now, they have no option but to carry heavier schoolbags due to the alternate day classes.

The material is sturdy and well-stitched. The bag appears to be durable. Unfortunately, I had to return it because I purchased it under the impression that it will fit a 15.6″ laptop, but that didn’t happen. I should have known that a 21L backpack would not be enough, but I read multiplr reviews and bought this anyway.
